How To Make Double Chocolate-Cherry Drops
Ingredients
- 2 oz baking chocolate squares, unsweetened
- 1 ¼ cup flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup shortening
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp milk
- 3/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 12 medium maraschino cherries, chopped and drained

Melt baking chocolate and set aside.

Blend flour, baking powder, salt together. Set this aside too.

Beat shortening and vanilla together. Gradually add sugar and cream until fluffy.

Beat in the egg and mix in the cooled chocolate.

Add dry ingredients and milk. Stir in remaining ingredients.

Drop by level tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheets.

Bake at 325 degrees about 10 minutes. Cool slightly before removing from oven to cool completely. Serve.
