  • 4 eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Whipped cream and cherries for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9 inch baking dish.

  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk the eggs and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Add the flour, baking powder, milk, and vanilla extract to the bowl and mix until well combined.

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and smooth the top.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes.

  7. In a separate bowl, whisk together the evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, and heavy cream.

  8. Poke holes all over the cake using a fork or skewer, then slowly pour the milk mixture over the cake, making sure it is evenly soaked.

  9. Allow the cake to cool completely in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.

  10. To serve, cut into squares and top with whipped cream and cherries, if desired.
