Serves:
Ingredients
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
- Zest and juice of 1 lime
- 2 tbsp sugar
Instructions
-
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, whole milk, sweetened condensed milk, and vanilla extract until well combined.
-
Pour the mixture into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
-
While the ice cream is churning, prepare the lime-macerated strawberries. In a separate bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, lime zest, lime juice, and sugar. Stir well and let it sit for at least 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
-
Once the ice cream is done churning, transfer it to a freezer-safe container and fold in half of the lime-macerated strawberries.
-
Cover the container and freeze the ice cream for at least 2 hours or until firm.
-
Serve the Tres leches ice cream with a scoop of the remaining lime-macerated strawberries on top.
-
Enjoy!
