Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup of finely chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp of powdered sugar
  • 1 cup of sliced strawberries

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 250°F (120°C).

  2. In a clean mixing bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form.

  3. Gradually add in the granulated sugar and continue to beat until glossy and stiff.

  4. Gently fold in the chopped pecans and powdered sugar.

  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spoon the meringue mixture onto it, shaping it into a round cake.

  6. Bake for 1 hour, then turn off the oven and leave the meringue cake inside for an additional 30 minutes.

  7. In the meantime, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.

  8. Remove the meringue cake from the oven and let it cool completely.

  9. Place the cooled meringue cake on a serving plate and spread the whipped cream on top.

  10. Arrange the sliced strawberries on top of the cream.

  11. Serve and enjoy!
