Ingredients

  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • for the frosting:
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 cups of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons of milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the mashed bananas, melted butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla extract. Mix well.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just combined.

  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.

  5. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow to cool completely.

  6. In a mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and fluffy. Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

  7. Once the bars are cooled, spread the frosting over the top. Cut into squares and serve.
