  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • ⅓ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup sour cream
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  • for the crumble topping:
  • ⅓ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, softened

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a round cake pan.

  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate large bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add the egg and vanilla extract, and mix well.

  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the sour cream. Mix until just combined.

  5. Fold in the mini chocolate chips.

  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan, spreading evenly.

  7. In a small bowl, combine the flour, sugar, and butter for the crumble topping. Mix until crumbly.

  8. Sprinkle the crumble topping over the cake batter.

  9. Bake for 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

  10. Allow the cake to cool for a few minutes before serving.
