  • 4 bananas
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup rum
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • Vanilla ice cream, for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium heat.

  2. Cut each banana in half lengthwise, leaving the skin on.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar, rum, and melted butter.

  4. Brush the mixture onto the exposed side of the bananas.

  5. Place the bananas, cut side down, on the grill.

  6. Grill for 5 minutes, until the sugar starts to caramelize and the bananas are tender.

  7. Carefully remove the bananas from the grill and let them cool for a few minutes.

  8. Serve the grilled bananas with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, if desired.
