Serves:
Ingredients
- 2 ripe bananas
- 2 tbsp rum
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 4 sheets of puff pastry, thawed
- Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream, for serving
Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
In a small bowl, mix the rum and brown sugar together until the sugar has dissolved.
-
In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the bananas and cook for 2 minutes on each side, until lightly caramelized.
-
Pour the rum mixture over the bananas and cook for another minute, until the sauce thickens slightly.
-
Cut the puff pastry sheets into 4 circles slightly larger than the size of the skillet.
-
Place a puff pastry circle on top of each banana in the skillet, tucking the edges around the bananas.
-
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, until the puff pastry is golden and crispy.
-
Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.
-
Carefully flip the skillet onto a serving plate, allowing the caramelized bananas to be on top.
-
Serve warm with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
