How To Make Braised Pork Belly with Thai Basil & Tofu

Ingredients
- 1.5 lbs pork belly, sliced
- 1 cup Thai basil leaves
- 1 block tofu, cubed
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 shallots, sliced
- 2 red chilies, sliced
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

Heat vegetable oil in a large pot or Dutch oven over medium heat. Add garlic, shallots, and red chilies, and sauté until fragrant.

Add pork belly slices to the pot and brown on both sides, about 5 minutes per side.

Pour in chicken broth, soy sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar. Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to low, cover the pot, and let the pork belly braise for 1.5 to 2 hours, or until tender and the flavors have melded together.

In the last 10 minutes of cooking, add the cubed tofu and Thai basil leaves to the pot. Stir gently to incorporate.
