How To Make Swedish Rye Bread

Ingredients

  • 2 cups rye flour
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 1/4 cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp melted butter

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the rye flour, all-purpose flour, salt, honey, and yeast.

  2. Gradually pour in the warm water, stirring until the mixture forms a dough.

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5-10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased loaf pan and let it rise for 30-40 minutes.

  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  6. Brush the top of the dough with melted butter and bake for 1 hour until golden brown.

  7. Let the bread cool before slicing and serving.
