How To Make Tomato Sauce for Pasta

Ingredients
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, diced
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
- 2 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions

In a large saucepan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onions and minced garlic, cook until onions are translucent and garlic is fragrant.

Add crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, dried basil, dried oregano, and sugar to the saucepan. Stir well to combine.

Reduce heat to low and simmer the sauce for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.

Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Remove from heat and serve over cooked pasta.
