Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of cream of tartar
  • Pink food coloring (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • Rose petals for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°F (95°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a clean and dry mixing bowl, beat the egg whites on high speed until foamy.

  3. Gradually add the sugar, cream of tartar, and vanilla extract while continuing to beat until stiff peaks form. The mixture should be glossy and hold its shape.

  4. If desired, add a few drops of pink food coloring and gently fold it into the meringue mixture to create a blush color.

  5. Transfer the meringue mixture to a piping bag fitted with a star tip and pipe small mounds onto the prepared baking sheet.

  6. Bake the meringues for 90 minutes, or until they are crisp and dry to the touch. Turn off the oven and leave the meringues inside for an additional 30 minutes to cool completely.

  7. Once cooled, remove the meringues from the baking sheet and garnish with rose petals if desired.

  8. Serve the blush meringues immediately or store in an airtight container for up to one week.
