How To Make Stroopwafels Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 tsp active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup warm milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup caramel sauce
Instructions

In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.

In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Mix well.

Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth and elastic. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.

Preheat a stroopwafel iron or a regular waffle iron.

Divide the dough into small balls and place each ball onto the iron. Close the iron and cook until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.

Remove the waffles from the iron and let them cool for a few seconds.

Use a sharp knife to carefully slice each waffle in half horizontally.

Spread caramel sauce on one half of each waffle and sandwich it with the other half.
