Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Grease a 9 inch square baking dish.

  3. Cream together butter and sugar.

  4. Add molasses and egg. Mix well.

  5. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, baking soda, ginger, and cinnamon.

  6. Gradually add dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk.

  7. Mix until just combined.

  8. Pour batter into prepared pan.

  9. Bake for 45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

  10. Let cool before serving.
