Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375°F.

In a bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until it becomes light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until fully combined.

Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped walnuts (if using).

Scoop the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
