Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups old-fashioned oats
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. In a large bowl, beat the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.

  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.

  6. Fold in the oats and chocolate chips.

  7. Drop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them 2 inches apart.

  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden brown.

  9. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
