How To Make Pedro Mexican Restaurante Flan Recipe
Rich and creamy custard with a caramel drizzle.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 3 eggs
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp salt
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350°F.
-
In a small saucepan over medium heat, cook sugar until melted and golden brown. Pour into a 9×5 inch loaf pan and swirl to coat bottom of pan.
-
In a large mixing bowl, beat eggs. Add sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, and salt, and mix until well combined.
-
Pour the mixture over the caramel in the loaf pan. Place the pan in a larger baking dish and fill halfway with hot water.
-
Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of the flan.
-
Let cool, then cover and refrigerate for at least 3 hours or until completely chilled.
-
To serve, run a knife along the edges of the pan and invert onto a serving plate, allowing the caramel sauce to drizzle over the flan.
