Ingredients

  • 2 cups of cooked pinto beans
  • 2 tbsp of vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp of cumin
  • 1 tsp of chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Chopped cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  2. Add the onion and garlic and cook until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.

  3. Add the cumin and chili powder and cook for another minute.

  4. Add the beans and mash them with a potato masher until they are creamy and fully mashed.

  5. Season with salt to taste and continue cooking for another 10-15 minutes until the beans are fully heated through.

  6. Serve hot, garnished with chopped cilantro.
