How To Make Nigella’s Chocolate Chip Cookies
Classic chocolate chip cookies with a crisp edge and a soft, chewy centre.

Ingredients
- 125g unsalted butter, softened
- 100g caster sugar
- 75g light brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg, fridge-cold
- 225g plain flour

Cream the butter, caster sugar, light brown sugar and vanilla extract together in a bowl until light and fluffy.

Beat in the egg.

In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, bicarbonate of soda and salt.

Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix until just combined.

Stir in the chocolate chips.

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, form the dough into balls and place onto the prepared baking tray, leaving space between each cookie.

Bake for 12-15 minutes until lightly golden.

Cool on the tray for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
