How To Make Nigella’s Chicken Parmesan Recipe
A classic Italian dish with golden fried chicken and melted cheese topping.
Serves:
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- Fresh basil leaves, for garnish
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F.
-
In three separate shallow bowls, add flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs mixed with Parmesan cheese.
-
Season the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Dredge each breast in flour, then dip in egg, allowing excess to drip off, and finally coat in breadcrumb mixture.
-
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown.
-
Transfer chicken to a baking dish. Pour marinara sauce over the chicken and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top.
-
Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and cheese is melted and bubbly.
-
Serve hot garnished with fresh basil leaves.
