Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 egg
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • Butter or oil, for cooking

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.

  3. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and stir until batter is just combined.

  4. Heat a non-stick frying pan over medium heat and lightly grease with butter or oil.

  5. Using a 1/4 cup measure, scoop batter onto the pan. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip and cook until the other side is golden brown.

  6. Repeat with remaining batter.

  7. Serve hot with your favorite toppings.
