How To Make Nigella’s Brownies Recipe

Decadent, chocolatey squares of heaven that will leave you wanting more.

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 200g dark chocolate
  • 150g unsalted butter
  • 200g granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 125g all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  2. Melt the chocolate and butter in a heatproof bowl over a pot of simmering water, stirring occasionally.

  3. Remove the melted chocolate mix from the heat and let it cool a little.

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract until creamy.

  5. Add the cooled chocolate mixture to the egg mixture and stir until thoroughly combined.

  6. Sift in the flour and salt and fold them into the chocolate mixture until the batter is smooth and shiny.

  7. Pour the batter into a lined 20cm square baking tin and bake for 25 minutes.

  8. Remove the brownies from the oven, let them cool in the tin for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

  9. Cut into squares and serve.
