A classic glazed donut recipe from Dunkin Donuts that you can easily make at home!

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp melted butter
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Oil for frying
  • For the Glaze:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 vanilla bean, seeds scraped out or 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2-3 tbsp milk

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  2. Add in the buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  3. Heat oil in a saucepan or deep fryer to 350°F.
  4. Using a piping bag or a ziplock bag with the corner snipped off, pipe the batter into the oil, making rings about 3 inches in diameter.
  5. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Remove donuts from the oil and let drain on a paper towel-lined plate. Let cool.
  7. In a mixing bowl, combine the powdered sugar, vanilla bean seeds or extract, and milk. Whisk until smooth.
  8. Dip each cooled donut into the glaze, making sure to coat evenly.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
