Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1 cup granulated sugar, for coating

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep pot or fryer to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Drop spoonfuls of dough into the hot oil and fry until golden brown, turning once, for about 2-3 minutes per side.

  6. Remove the doughnuts from the oil using a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.

  7. Roll the warm doughnuts in granulated sugar until evenly coated.

  8. Serve hot and enjoy!
