Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 can kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 can diced tomatoes
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat until fully cooked.

  2. Add in the chopped onion, green bell pepper, and garlic and cook until softened, stirring occasionally, for about 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, and salt and pepper.

  4. Pour in the canned diced tomatoes, beef broth, kidney beans, and black beans.

  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low.

  6. Simmer for 1 hour, stirring occasionally.

  7. Serve hot with toppings of your choice, such as shredded cheese, sour cream, or chopped cilantro.
