Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup of butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups of whole milk
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1/4 tsp of black pepper
  • 2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.

  2. Place potatoes in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish.

  3. In a medium saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour until smooth.

  4. Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a boil, whisking constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 minutes.

  5. Remove from heat and stir in salt, pepper, and cheese.

  6. Pour cheese sauce over potatoes and toss to coat.

  7. Cover with foil and bake for 1 hour.

  8. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes or until potatoes are tender and cheese is bubbly.
