How To Make Aunt Susie’s Baked Mac and Cheese Recipe
Creamy and cheesy mac and cheese that’s baked to perfection with a crispy golden crust.

Ingredients
- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups whole milk
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups grated cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook elbow macaroni as instructed on the package.

In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk until combined.

Gradually pour in whole milk while whisking continuously. Cook until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.

Add salt, black pepper, and 1 and 1/2 cups of grated cheddar cheese. Stir until the cheese melts.

Add the cooked macaroni and stir to coat evenly with the cheese sauce.

Pour the mac and cheese into an oven-safe dish and top with the remaining grated cheddar cheese and panko breadcrumbs.

Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.

Sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley before serving.
