Ingredients

  • 4 cups day-old bread, cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.

  2. In a large bowl, combine bread cubes and raisins.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  4. Pour mixture over bread cubes and stir to combine.

  5. Let mixture sit for 10 minutes or until bread has absorbed most of the liquid.

  6. Pour mixture into a greased 8-inch baking dish.

  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until top is golden brown and the pudding is set.

  8. Serve warm with vanilla custard sauce.
