Ingredients
- 4 chicken drumsticks
- 4 chicken thighs
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
-
In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
-
Place the chicken drumsticks and thighs in the buttermilk mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator.
-
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.
-
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
-
Remove the chicken pieces from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off.
-
Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.
-
Carefully place the coated chicken pieces in the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.
-
Fry the chicken for about 12-15 minutes, flipping once, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the coating is golden brown and crispy.
-
Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.
-
Serve hot and enjoy!
