  • 4 chicken drumsticks
  • 4 chicken thighs
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the buttermilk, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

  2. Place the chicken drumsticks and thighs in the buttermilk mixture, ensuring they are fully coated. Let them marinate for at least 1 hour, or overnight in the refrigerator.

  3. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder.

  4. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).

  5. Remove the chicken pieces from the marinade, allowing any excess to drip off.

  6. Dredge each piece of chicken in the flour mixture, ensuring they are fully coated.

  7. Carefully place the coated chicken pieces in the hot oil, cooking in batches if necessary to avoid overcrowding the pan.

  8. Fry the chicken for about 12-15 minutes, flipping once, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C) and the coating is golden brown and crispy.

  9. Remove the fried chicken from the oil and place on a wire rack or paper towels to drain excess oil.

  10. Serve hot and enjoy!
