How To Make Korean Fried Chicken

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs of chicken wings
  • 1 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp of salt
  • 1 tsp of black pepper
  • 1 tsp of garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup of cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • For the sauce:
  • 1/2 cup of gochujang (Korean red pepper paste)
  • 1/4 cup of soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup of honey
  • 2 tbsp of rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp of sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp of minced garlic
  • 1 tsp of grated ginger
  • Sesame seeds and sliced green onions, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, mix flour, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Coat the chicken wings with the flour mixture.

  2. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the chicken wings in batches for about 10-12 minutes until golden brown and cooked through. Drain on paper towels.

  3. In a saucepan, combine gochujang, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Cook over low heat for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  4. Toss the fried chicken wings in the sauce until well coated. Garnish with sesame seeds and sliced green onions.

  5. Serve hot and enjoy!
