Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a shallow dish, mix together the breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, basil, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.

  3. Dip each chicken breast in olive oil, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture, pressing lightly to adhere.

  4. Place the breaded chicken breasts in a baking dish.

  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.

  6. Remove the dish from the oven and spoon marinara sauce over each chicken breast.

  7. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.

  8. Return the dish to the oven for an additional 5-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Serve the Italian Chicken Bake hot, garnished with fresh basil or parsley.
