Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken
  • 2 onions, chopped
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 3 celery stalks, chopped
  • 4 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried thyme
  • 1 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 cups chicken broth

Instructions

  1. Preheat the soup maker on the sauté setting.

  2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, thyme, rosemary, and paprika.

  3. Place the chicken in the soup maker and cook until browned on all sides.

  4. Remove the chicken from the soup maker and set aside.

  5. Add the onions, carrots, celery, and garlic to the soup maker and sauté until softened.

  6. Place the chicken back into the soup maker and add the chicken broth.

  7. Close the lid and set the soup maker to the soup setting.

  8. Cook for 40 minutes or until the chicken is cooked through and tender.

  9. Remove the chicken from the soup maker and shred the meat using two forks.

  10. Return the shredded chicken to the soup maker and stir well.

  11. Adjust the seasoning with salt and pepper, if needed.

  12. Serve the soup hot with crusty bread.
