How To Make Hot Cross Bun French Toast Dippers

- 4 hot cross buns
- 2 eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp salt
- Butter or oil, for cooking
- Powdered sugar, for dusting (optional)
- Maple syrup, for serving
Instructions

Slice the hot cross buns in half horizontally to create bun “slices.”

In a shallow dish, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium heat and add a small amount of butter or oil.

Dip each bun slice into the egg mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.

Place the soaked bun slices onto the hot skillet or griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown.

Remove the French toast dippers from the skillet and repeat with the remaining slices.
