How To Make Breakfast Sausage and Grits Recipe

A southern classic! Grits blended with a mix of spices and sauteed breakfast sausage.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 8 oz breakfast sausage
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. In a saucepan, bring water to a boil and add salt.

  2. Gradually whisk in grits, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.

  3. Reduce heat and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until grits are thickened.

  4. In a separate skillet, cook breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned.

  5. Stir in butter to grits and serve immediately, topped with sausage.
