Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, yeast, sugar, and salt. Mix well.

  2. Add warm water and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until a dough forms.

  3. Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a clean kitchen towel. Allow it to rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.

  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Punch down the dough and shape it into a loaf.

  6. Place the loaf in a greased 9×5 inch loaf pan and cover with the towel. Let it rise for another 30 minutes.

  7. Bake the bread for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  8. Remove the bread from the pan and let it cool completely on a wire rack before slicing.
