How To Make Skillet Corn Bread

- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 eggs
- Optional add-ins: corn kernels, shredded cheese, diced jalapenos
Instructions

Preheat your skillet in the oven at 400°F (200°C) while you prepare the batter.

In a large bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt.

In another bowl, combine the buttermilk, melted butter, honey, and eggs. Mix well.

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. If desired, fold in your optional add-ins.

Carefully remove the hot skillet from the oven and grease it with a bit of butter or cooking spray.

Pour the batter into the skillet and spread it evenly.

Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
