Cooking: 12 minutes
Total: 27 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
  • 3/4 cup milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

  3. Add the cold butter to the bowl and use a pastry cutter or your hands to cut it into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  4. Pour in the milk and stir until just combined. The dough will be slightly sticky.

  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently knead it a few times until it comes together.

  6. Roll the dough to about 1/2-inch (1.3 cm) thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to cut out rounds and place them onto the prepared baking sheet.

  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown on top.

  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before serving.
