Preparation: 20 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 50 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp of granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp of active dry yeast
  • 1/2 tsp of salt
  • 3 large eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup of unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/4 cup of milk

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt.

  2. Add the eggs, butter, and milk to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.

  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes, until it becomes smooth and elastic.

  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl and cover with a damp cloth. Let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.

  5. Punch down the dough and divide it into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a round loaf and place them on a greased baking sheet.

  6. Cover the loaves with a damp cloth and let them rise for another 30 minutes.

  7. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

  8. Bake the brioche loaves for 25-30 minutes, or until they turn golden brown and sound hollow when tapped on the bottom.

  9. Remove the loaves from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
