Preparation: 15 minutes
Cooking: 30 minutes
Total: 45 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of French bread
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).

  2. Slice the French bread horizontally and vertically, creating a crisscross pattern, but making sure not to cut through the bottom crust.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper.

  4. Drizzle the garlic butter mixture between the bread slices, making sure to get it evenly distributed.

  5. Stuff the shredded cheddar cheese evenly between the bread slices, allowing it to melt into the bread as it bakes.

  6. Wrap the entire loaf in aluminum foil, leaving the top exposed.

  7. Place the wrapped loaf on a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.

  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

  9. Allow the bread to cool for a few minutes before serving.
