Ingredients

  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 4 beef hot dogs
  • 4 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon of ketchup
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill or grill pan.

  2. In a small saucepan, combine the sliced onion, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and ketchup. Cook over medium heat until the onions are soft and the sauce has thickened, about 10 minutes.

  3. Grill the hot dogs until heated through and grill marks appear, about 5-7 minutes.

  4. Place a slice of cheese on each hot dog and allow it to melt slightly.

  5. Toast the hot dog buns on the grill for a minute or two until they are lightly toasted.

  6. Place each hot dog in a bun and top with the sticky sweet & sour onions.

  7. Serve immediately and enjoy!
