How To Make Sloppy Sausage Chilli Cheese Dogs

Ingredients
- 4 sausage buns
- 4 sausage links
- 1/2 onion, diced
- 1/2 red bell pepper, diced
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup chilli sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp mustard
- 1 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)
Instructions

Preheat your grill or skillet over medium heat.

Cook the sausage links according to package instructions until they are browned and cooked through. Set them aside.

In the same skillet or a separate one, add a little oil and sauté the diced onion, diced red bell pepper, and minced garlic until they are softened and fragrant.

Stir in the chilli sauce, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper. Cook everything together for a few minutes until the flavours combine.

Once the sauce is ready, add the cooked sausage links into the skillet and let them simmer in the sauce for a few more minutes.

Split the sausage buns, place a sausage link into each, and spoon some of the sloppy sausage chilli mixture over the top.

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of each sausage and place them under the broiler for a few minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Garnish with chopped green onions, if desired, and serve hot.
