How To Make Harissa & Lamb Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 3 tbsp harissa paste
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • Sesame seeds for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground lamb, harissa paste, bread crumbs, parsley, garlic, cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly combined.

  3. Roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangular shape and cut it into 4 equal pieces.

  4. Divide the lamb mixture into 4 portions. Take one portion and shape it into a long log. Place it on one end of a puff pastry piece and roll it up tightly, sealing the edges with a bit of beaten egg. Repeat with the remaining lamb mixture and puff pastry pieces.

  5. Place the sausage rolls on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down. Brush the tops with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and the lamb is cooked through.

  7. Serve the harissa & lamb sausage rolls hot as an appetizer or snack.
