Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

  2. In a bowl, combine brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.

  3. Place sweet potato slices in a baking dish.

  4. Pour the brown sugar mixture over the sweet potatoes and toss to coat evenly.

  5. Add water to the baking dish.

  6. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.

  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the sauce is thickened.

  8. Serve hot.
