Serves:

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh sage
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

  3. Stir in the chopped sage and onion.

  4. Gradually add the milk and mix until a soft dough forms.

  5. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead it gently a few times until it comes together.

  6. Roll the dough to about 1/2 inch thickness and cut out mini round shapes using a cookie cutter or a small glass.

  7. Place the mini scones onto the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes or until they turn golden brown.

  8. Remove from the oven and let them cool on a wire rack before serving.
