Ingredients

  • 1 lb calamari, cleaned and cut into rings
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup pitted black olives
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 2 tbsp capers
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

  2. Coat calamari rings in seasoned flour mixture, shaking off any excess.

  3. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat.

  4. Add calamari to skillet and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 3-4 minutes.

  5. Remove calamari from skillet and place on paper towels to remove any excess oil.

  6. In a food processor, combine black olives, parsley, capers, garlic, olive oil, and lemon juice. Pulse until smooth.

  7. Serve calamari with black olive tapenade on the side.
