How To Make Bacon-Wrapped Chestnuts

Ingredients

  • 16 chestnuts
  • 8 slices of bacon
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Make a small slit in the shell of each chestnut with a knife.

  3. Place the chestnuts in a pot of boiling water and cook for 5 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat and drain the chestnuts.

  5. Peel the shells and set the chestnuts aside.

  6. In a small bowl, mix maple syrup, soy sauce, and black pepper.

  7. Wrap each chestnut with a slice of bacon and secure with a toothpick.

  8. Place the bacon-wrapped chestnuts on a baking sheet.

  9. Brush the chestnuts with the maple syrup mixture.

  10. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy.

  11. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes.

  12. Serve warm and enjoy!
