Ingredients

  • 500g boneless chicken, cut into pieces
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger paste
  • 2 teaspoons ground cardamom
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt, to taste
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat butter and oil in a pan over medium heat. Add onions and cook until golden brown.

  2. Add garlic and ginger paste to the pan and sauté for a minute.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together ground cardamom, cumin, coriander, turmeric, and red chili powder. Add this spice mixture to the pan and cook for 2 minutes.

  4. Add chicken pieces to the pan and cook until browned on all sides.

  5. Reduce heat to low and stir in yogurt and heavy cream. Simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened.

  6. Season with salt according to taste.

  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
