How To Make Cardamom and Lemon Shortbread Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cardamom
  • 1 tbsp lemon zest
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Mix in the cardamom and lemon zest until well combined.

  4. Slowly add in the flour and salt until the dough comes together.

  5. Form the dough into a ball and wrap it in plastic wrap. Chill in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

  6. Roll out the dough to 1/4 inch thickness and cut into desired shapes.

  7. Place the cookies on a parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until lightly golden.

  8. Remove from the oven and let cool before serving.
