Ingredients

  • 2 cans of chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons of tahini
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 cup of water
  • Fresh cilantro, for garnish
  • Extra olive oil, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine chickpeas, garlic, tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, cayenne pepper, cumin, and salt. Blend until smooth.

  2. Gradually add water, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency is reached.

  3. Transfer hummus to a serving bowl and garnish with fresh cilantro.

  4. Drizzle with extra olive oil before serving.

  5. Serve with pita bread or vegetable sticks.
