Ingredients

  • 2 cans chickpeas, drained and rinsed
  • 2 jalapenos, seeded and chopped
  • 3 cloves of garlic
  • 3 tablespoons of tahini
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper
  • Optional toppings: chopped jalapenos, paprika, olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a food processor, combine the chickpeas, jalapenos, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, cumin, salt, and black pepper.

  2. Process until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides as needed.

  3. With the food processor running, gradually add the olive oil until well combined.

  4. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.

  5. Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped jalapenos, a sprinkle of paprika, and a drizzle of olive oil, if desired.

  6. Serve with pita bread, tortilla chips, or vegetable sticks.
